Wood Shop continues to shine ... with help of volunteers
Products multiply, quality improves, sales increase
Worker skills and confidence improve each week as they increase their knowledge of equipment and techniques -- some from volunteer instructors and some from good ole experience. Sales have picked up, but a more aggressive marketing and promotion strategy is required.
Currently, the Wood Shop is making products from recycled pallets and crates, from newly cut, local hardwoods, and from wood reclaimed when old village houses are torn down.
When the Shop is profitable for a couple consecutive months, we will hire and train about nine more people which is one of the primary goals of our social enterprise adventures!
